March 2016 Goals

Because getting my goals for March posted late is better than never, here we go…

If the Lord wills and I live, in March I will:

1. Walk or jog 100 miles
2. Work 80 hours on my non-writing job
3. Work 100 hours on my writing work
4. Read at least an hour each day
5. Read and review 4 non-fiction books
6. Either re-write or edit each chapter in WLHYL
7. Write at least 300 words on the re-writes every day

Haha! Thanks. 🙂 I just got done with my fifth mile of the day and I got eight miles in yesterday and thirty-two the week before, so I'm doing pretty well on that goal… Now the other goals…? I'm working on them, too. (Slowly but surely.)

My excuse for today was that it was raining (which is lame, because the Bowflex is in the shop, but it is a hundred yard or so walk). So, I did my old calisthenic routine instead. Maybe I should set some goals like you? Used to do that on New Year's Eve, but got tired of failing so miserably every year…

Ah, but there's a HUGE difference between goals and resolutions. Did you set New Year's Eve goals, or resolutions? I don't think resolutions work well for most people… Now goals on the other hand? Yes, please! And walking in the rain? That's actually really fun. 🙂

Goals, actually – but I sealed them up and didn't open them until the end of the year. Come to think of it, that was a really stupid approach. I guess I just wasn't that intentional about reaching any of the goals I set, which would pretty much explain why I failed. (Non-mystery solved.)

As for walking in the rain, I agree it can be fun. As I told my friend at the Civil War reenactment where we both got drenched to the skin, I have no objection to getting rained on, I just don't particularly like being getting wet. 😉

Oh dear, that does sound like a rather scary approach. :-/ 🙂 I was always taught that I was supposed to write them down and review them each day to help keep them in the forefront of my mind. Last year I didn't review them hardly ever and I didn't accomplish very many which was really sad but quite expected. This I'm working at setting much more reasonable and meaningful goals and then *really* focusing on them. (I'm quite passionate about goals and try not to be too redundant with posting about them on Noveltea…)

I've never heard of dry rain, but it sounds interesting… 😉 And, as much as I enjoy walking in the rain, there are days that it keeps me inside because I'm not feeling it for that day…
