I Was Tagged, And I Actually Am Answering =)

So, I don’t normally do a blog post when I’m ‘tagged’. That’s partly because I sometimes don’t want to (although I always feel privileged to be ‘tagged’ or ‘awarded’), and partly because I think ‘oh, I’ll answer the questions, these look fun’ and then I forget all about it… Yeah, I can be pretty forgetful when it comes to blogging certain things. 😉 Anyway, though, I saw this one, and I was in the mood to write a blog post, so I thought ‘Why not?’, and here I am!

Alrighty then, I’ll do the 11 random things about me, and answer Evangela’s questions, but I’m not gonna tag anyone else.

As you who have followed my blog for a while can attest to, I often tell random things, so instead of just doing ‘random’ random things, I’m going to start at ‘A’ and go down the line. Hopefully that makes it more fun for y’all!

1. I used to love the name Almanzo… Anyone want to guess what books I grew up reading? I was just about sure I would name my son ‘Almanzo’ one day. I even asked my mom what she’d think of that. (We’re talking about when I was eight or so, folks, not recently.)

2. Baklava is totally delicious!

3. I have the lovely duty of cutting the grass at a private retreat where I work. I really seriously like the job an incredible amount. I get to use a zero-turn mower which is great, his name is Chadwin.

4. I think dandelions are very beautiful and inspiring.

5. When I was a little girl, my mom made spaghetti sauce with eggplant in it. I was rather stubborn and also a very picky eater, so I wouldn’t eat my food… And in my family, we weren’t allowed to get up from the table until we had eaten all our food. I sat there for several hours until bed time, but as I recall it, I never did finish. (Not an isolated event, if you’re wondering.)

6. Fireflies are just plain cool!

7. My current WIP has the word ‘Guardian’ in it’s title.

8. I have a totally amazing sister who’s name is Helena, most people pronounce it wrong. They either say ‘ha lena’ or ‘helen a’, but really it’s ‘ha lane a’. Does that make sense?

9. I used to dream of being an Indian, sadly with blue eyes, blonde hair and fair skin with a good amount of freckles, I don’t think I’ll be finding out a hidden ancestry line any time soon…

10. I spent about a week (two years ago) in the high jungle of Peru, South America, helping take care of my sister’s children, when she was getting some medical help at a nearby hospital. It was cool seeing wild parrots fly overhead, but other than that, it wasn’t too different…

11. I really like typing on keyboards, like the computer kind. One time when I didn’t have a working computer for a while, I would just pull out a broken one so I could type, just for the feel of it.

So yeah, that ^ took way longer than I thought it would… It was fun, though. Hope you enjoy it. If you ever decide to do something like that, just drop me a link, letting me know, ’cause I would find it very entertaining to read what y’all have to say. =)

Now for the questions I’m supposed to answer:

1. Would you rather live on a deserted island a country farm or in a busy city?
A country farm. Why? Because the island doesn’t have enough people, the city has too many, and the farm has the right amount.

2. If you were to write a story what time frame would it be in?
Well, it depends… The one I’m writing right now takes place in what would be like the Medieval ages, but I made up the country, because I wanted to have my own government. A story I have whirling around in my head right now, though, takes place in modern times.

3. What is your favorite name and its meaning?
One of my favorite names is Abigail Shalom, and Abigail means something like ‘A Father’s Joy’ and Shalom means something like ‘Peace’.

4. Which do you like best, Skittles or M&M’s?
Skittles. I don’t eat chocolate. Well, I don’t eat skittles right now either, because I’m not having sugar…

5. What person has inspired you most?
I’m guessing you mean other than Jesus. This is too hard of a question to answer right now. My parents are very inspiring, but there are a few other people as well. One is Joseph in the Bible. He had tons of stuff going against him, yet still stayed strong in God. Another person would be Corrie ten Boom, for pretty much the same reason, plus she was an author, and since I’m a writer myself, that’s a huge thing. That isn’t my final answer, but it will have to do for now.

6. Which person would you rather meet, Adolph Hitler or Barak Obama?
Obama.

7. If you had 1000 dollars what would you do with it?
I would most likely buy several hundred of my books to re-sell. Actually, I would use it for editing, in all likelihood.

8. Which is your “love language”?
1. Physical Touch (Hug, kiss, etc.),
2. Words of Affirmation (Words of encouragement, affection, endearment),
3. Quality Time (Going out with that person, spending time with them)
4. Gifts (I think this is pretty easy to understand)
5. Acts of Service (Someone doing your chores for you, helping you with your school)
Oh, I have read a lot about love languages. My first one is Words of Affirmation, second is Physical Touch, third is Quality Time, fourth is Acts of Service, and fifth is Gifts.

9. Which of the four personality types are you?
1.Lion-Needs freedom/Craves authority, Goal setter
2.Otter- Energizer Bunny/Entertaining
3.Golden Retriever – More interested in relationships than goals, a good time, or tasks
4.Beaver- Perfectionist, cautious, high standards
Well, I am an extreme goal setter, so I’m guessing I would be the lion.

10. What number are you in your birth order? (First child, second child, third child, etc.)
I am the seventh out of ten.

11. What is your favorite game?
I don’t have an answer to this one. If Word Wars (where writers set a time and see who can write the most amount of quality words during it) was a game, I would probably choose that. My family enjoys playing card games together, too.

Thanks, Evangela!

That was a lot of fun! I enjoy reading tags – some have some pretty interesting questions! I finally know someone who likes to write in modern times, then! Most I know love olden days, as does myself.
I would kind of like to meet Adolf Hitler – I would show him 180, whether it's about abortion or no doesn't take away the message!
I love to type on keyboards! Don't know which I like better – the noise of a keyboard or the click clack of a typewriter.
Can I ask what a WIP is? (Feels ignorant: blush 😉 )
Helena is beautiful – I would never have thought to say the name that way!
    Have a great day!

Great answers that were fun to read! I remember liking the name Almanzo too, and I like your current favorite name with the meanings. The way you pronounce Helena is the same way I pronounce it so it makes since to me. 🙂

I love your answers! That is so neat that you love typing too! Sometimes I will type what people are saying on my lap just for the fun of it! I also am fond of playing the piano. I must like using my fingers for stuff! (Except counting! 🙂
    Have a blessed day!

Yeah, Rebecca, I didn't know what 'WIP' meant the first several times I saw it, either. It means Work In Progress. That's how a lot of people refer to the book that they're currently working on. =)

oh! Makes perfect sense now, thank you! My WIP is a book written at 15, edited at 16, edited again at 17, and now getting it's final revise here at 18 – then off to be read! 🙂 Hope your writing is going well. 22,000 in a week….I'd say you're doing well.
