Interview with Michlyn

Hey you all! I’m here with Michlyn from Small Town Girl. Thank you so much for doing the interview with me today, Michlyn! How about you start by telling us a little about yourself?
Hello! Ok well to start out with, my name is Michlyn. Usually when people hear my name they ask me how to pronounce it, so for those who are wondering… it’s pronounced Mikelynn. 🙂 I’m 15 years old, lived in a small town my whole life, with my family of 8 (including me). I like to write, read, listen to lots of different music, and hang out with my friends. I have a huge heart for orphans, and love to teach.
Ahh, what a beautiful name! That’s so neat that you come from a small town. The town I live near only has about 7,000 people, but still, that’s not too small. So, can you tell us some about where you live now? (Small towns are such good settings for books!)
Yes I can! My town has a population of about 5,000 people. It’s located in Central Minnesota, and is fairly busy despite the size. We have quite a few little shops, a coffee shop, a book store, lots of pizza places, a dance studio, quite a few churches, a high school/middle school, an elementary school, and other small places to eat.
Oh my. Sounds like fun. Ok, for my next question: How would you describe your personality?
I would have to say that I’m adventurous and outgoing. I’m pretty crazy once you get to know me. I like to be unique, and show how I can be different from others.
If you could do anything at all in the whole world, what would it be? (Take this question however you want to, as in career, vacation, ministry, etc…)
I would travel to Canada. I’ve always wanted to go to Canada, just for a month to travel around, go site-seeing, and also visit some friends.
Nice. I got to go there for about two weeks to visit grandparents when I was 10. It was one of the coolest trips ever!
I believe that God is using me as a writer, right now, to help make a difference in the world. What do you think is the biggest way you could possibly impact the world around you? Do you have any desire to do it?
The biggest way I think that God could use me to impact the world, would to be a teacher in Africa. To go around to different villages just for the summer, or a few months and teach kids. I absolutely have a desire to do it. If I thought that God was telling me to do it, I would get there as fast as I could!
Wow, sounds interesting! I got to go to Peru, South America a couple of years ago to teach some missionary kids (my nieces and nephew’s), for two months. It was amazing.
Changing topics again: If you could live in any time period that you chose, which one would it be?
Hmm… I would live in the 1950’s. I have always wanted to see what it was like back then. I loved the old fashion cars, the cozy houses, and I even love the way they dressed. It would be fascinating to me, to be able to experience that.
And a last, randomish question: How do you picture me, as the author of the blog? =) Again, take the question anyway you choose, personality, setting, looks, etc…
You seem very creative, and a very good writer! I really want to get your books, and you have a great personality. Always coming up with something new! 🙂
Well thank you! And thank you so much for doing this interview with me, Michlyn! Have a great day.
Thank YOU! 🙂
