E is for Enthusiasm

For the A to Z challenge this year, I’m posting about one of my favorite things: Living the life you were born to live. I’ve been so blessed with a family that constantly encourages me and builds me up and I want to pass that along to y’all! I’ll be traveling a lot during the month, so some of the posts are scheduled ahead of time and answering comments might take some time. I’ll try and keep up though. Thanks for stopping by! 

E is for Enthusiasm


Jack Canfield said: 
“No doubt you know or have met people who are passionate about life and enthusiastic about their work. They can’t wait to get up in the morning and get started. They are eager and energetic. They are filled with purpose and totally committed to their mission. This kind of passion comes from loving and enjoying your work. It comes from doing what you were born to do. Enthusiasm and passion come as a result of caring about what you do.” 

My dad said:
You’ve probably heard… “Without a vision, the people perish.” If you don’t have a vision (or a goal), then you lose your direction, your motivation, your joy, your passion, your energy, your creativity, and your zeal for life. On the other hand, “having a vision” (or a goal) will give you direction, motivation, joy, passion, energy, creativity and a zeal for living. The only way to be truly diligent is to have a clear vision of what it is that you want to achieve.

Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived, and he said that people who do not have a vision will perish. You must have a vision, a goal, a map of where you want to go… or you’ll end up having lived a wasted life. Don’t just drift through life with no purpose.

I must have a map – I must know where I am going 
I must have goals – Proverbs twenty-nine, eighteen
I must not wander through life – I must have a plan
So that I do not end up – right back where I began

    Unfortunately, so many people are stuck in jobs that bring no satisfaction. I was that way until recently. Now I have a job that allows me to enjoy each day…people have to pull me away to do anything but work! If you can do something you love as your job, you'll never work a day in your life.

    For the believer, enthusiasm has an even deeper meaning. The word is derived from the Greek word “enthusia” which literally means “In God.” So for the believer, we should always have enthusiasm. Does that mean we do? No. But that's what grace is all about. 🙂
