My Favorite Bookish Names {Girl Edition}

Folks! This week is hugely busy with tons of work and lots of fun and so many memory-making ventures that I can hardly even keep track of them. Thankfully, I was able to slip in a vlog filming earlier this week so it could be ready today, but then I kinda had so much going on today that I forgot to post it.

But we have it now! So, enjoy! 😉

Announcing: A Change in Blogging (plus a vlog)

A delightful and happy Friday morning to y’all!

Today, we’re going to be talking about some changes. I’m excited about them, but they will affect y’all a bit so I wanted to let you in on my thought process and explain it all to you. So let’s dive in.

Back in March when I was celebrating my sixth year blogging anniversary I thought a lot about how and why and all the behind the scenes of blogging. And I realized that somehow I’d become a blogger who writes instead of a writer who blogs. Meaning so much of my time that was set aside for writerly activities was taken up with blogging. Plus, I was constantly behind in answering comments. And, visiting other bloggers? Well, that had come to a nearly complete standstill.

After thinking and praying about it for a while I came up with a solution but then decided to do the A to Z Challenge, which meant I couldn’t really change things up until May. Seeing how far I got behind with the Challenge in April only reinforced in my mind how I needed to implement my change.

See, I’m going to only blog three days a week.

It feels really weird to say that after five years of blogging five days a week very consistently. Yet, I know it will be good for a number of reasons. Take yesterday for instance: I was supposed to get to work (which is 45 minutes away) at 8:30. I generally spend my mornings rushing around and trying to blog before hurrying out the door and then literally running from the car to get into work on time. Yesterday? I sauntered into work seven minutes early and completely amazed at how unrushed the morning had felt.

So, obviously, the added time in my schedule will be a plus. I plan on still using that time for writing-related activities – actual writing, connecting with other bloggers (oh, happy day!), maybe keeping up with other social media platforms better, etc….

I’ve also noticed that a lot of y’all don’t read my blog every day anyway, but when you come you catch up on various posts at once. And I agree, reading someone’s blog five days a week would be a little bit of overkill. I’ve just really enjoyed blogging five days a week before now. But now? Now y’all won’t have as much content to catch up on.

Also, if I’m only posting three days a week I can take more time to come up with quality content. I’ve been enjoying posting graphics to go along with my posts, but yo, folks. It takes time to create those. So, less posting means I can spend more time making my blog be the best it can be.

My plan currently (which I’ve actually been following this month already) is to blog Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I might not always follow that and I won’t freak out if I don’t, but at least now y’all know what you can expect from me.

Lord willing I’ll also be posting my vlog on my Friday post, and I’m trying to choose a day to post on Instagram once a week. (I’m excited about that, folks, and can’t wait to share more with you.)

I’d be delighted to hear your thoughts about the changes, as well as hear about anything you’d like to see more or less of on Noveltea. Thanks, friends, for sticking around and being a part of my life!

And now for my bookish vlog which is completely unrelated to this post and also features my sister’s puppy. 😉

My Name Book Tag

Happy Thursday, folks! Today I’m extra excited because I created my own tag! Say what? Crazy, right? I tagged Jessi Dawn and Lindsey, and if y’all want to do it, then you can, too. 🙂

What’s your middle name?

The Book Cover Tag {Vlog}

Y’all! Today we’re gonna have fun as we explore my bookshelf with you while doing a tag suggested to me by Kate from Once Upon an Ordinary. Thank you so much for telling me about this tag, Kate! It’s a lot of fun having other bloggers suggest tags for me. 🙂

P.S. You should totally check out this post and vote. 😉

New Book Releases for March and April {Vlog}

Folks! Happy March! It’s amazing because the month only started seven hours and one minute ago, and I already feel like I’m ahead.

A month or so ago I posted a vlog with books I was looking forward to that were going to be released in Februay. Someone, and I think it was Kate, said they’d like to see more of those types of vidoes, so…here y’all go!

The Pros and Cons of Free Books & Unboxing {Vlog}

It’s another Thursday morning – my favorite blogging day of the week. I have so much fun working on these vlogs and I hope that you enjoy them as much as I do.

I was away from home for a couple of days, so therefore I didn’t film this vlog until last night. I don’t generally (ever?) film at night, so it was a bit different for me and I had to edit out a lot of stuff that didn’t make sense. 😉

Have a great day, y’all!

Perks of Audiobooks

A delightfully happy Thursday morning to you, folks! Today I have a vlog about one of the great discoveries of 2017. Okay… Well, maybe not. But, for me, audiobooks were a 2017 “discovery.” And me oh my how wonderful they are!

And, y’all should totally answer the question for me: Do you count audiobooks as books you’ve “read” (on Goodreads or however you keep track of your books)? Or how do you define them?

Have a fantastic day!

Unique Author Interview Questions Part Two {Vlog}

Happy Thursday, folks! I filmed this vlog a few weeks ago, which ended up working out really well because then I got sick and I didn’t even feel like reading (gasp!) but editing vlogs is always fun. So, I had a delightful time doing extra edits on the vlog since I didn’t have time restrictions because I didn’t feel up to doing anything else, anyway…

Thankfully I’m all better now, but I hope you have as good a time watching it as I had editing it. Enjoy!
