12 – Action Kids Book Release

12 Days!

After a lot of hard work, I can finally say that I’m feeling fairly confident that I’ll be able to get everything in line that needs to be ready for this book release to come off smoothly and I’ll even be able to enjoy it. Exciting right?

I’ve been sending out galoamzoes of emails, writing author bios, formatting, exploring character developments, updating my stuff, getting surprises ready, ordering giveaways, getting set up on Goodreads (I just about did a happy dance while singing Jingle Bells for joy when I got the email saying I was accepted as a Goodreads author!), finalizing various things, talking on the phone, trying to get business cards… Wwoooosssssssshhhhhhhhhh. Yes, I’ve been busy.

By the way, if you want to get random updates throughout the day you can check out my Twitter page, Google+ profile and Facebook

12 Days…
Since today marks 12 days until the release of the first book in the Action Kids series, here are 12 things you’re likely to find in my computer bag:
1. My computer
2. My computer cord
3. A notebook
4. Pens
5. Notecards
6. Envelopes with stamps
7. Sugar-free hard candy
8. Notes people have given me that are special to me
9. A little bit of money
10. A book or two
11. Wrappers
12. A harddrive
I carry my computer bag around a lot. Kinda like a briefcase and purse combined. So now it’s YOUR turn. If you feel so inclined, you can either write a post (and link it back to this one) where you talk about 12 things that you have in your backpack/briefcase/purse/computer bag and leave a link in the comments section. Or, just leave your list in the comment section.

Everyone who participates during the next two weeks will be entered into a drawing for their chance to receive one of the very first signed copies of the Action Kids book!

I Finished! Grins!

Can y’all believe that it’s almost October! Seriously, where is time going? I mean, it seems like I was just getting excited about September, and now it’s time to get pumped up about October. That’s not hard of course, seeing how October is like one of the coolest months ever… =D

So a little over a week ago, I decided to try and write a kids book that would end up having around 10,000 words. I was kinda nervous about it, because it was something that I hadn’t tried before (the particular style) and I didn’t know how it would turn out. Plus, I wanted to hurry up and get it finished so I could order a sample copy to give to my ‘adopted’ parents so they could tell me what they thought when I see them this coming week.

{Pictures in this post taken by my ‘adopted’ mom}

Well, with everything else I had going on (mainly stuff for my friend’s wedding), it got pushed back on the priority list. I worked on it for a day or two and then hit a bump, got stuck and put it away for the next four or five days.

Then yesterday, I had gotten caught up with the wedding pep, and so I was like “Great! I can work on my book again!” Only one slight problem, I was stuck. Like good and stuck. I knew I had to find another element for the book, or it wasn’t going to be worth anything.

Well, I was up in the barn, milking, turning my book over, and over and over in my mind… When the solution came to me! Isn’t it so much fun when you suddenly figure out how to fix a problem your book has? Anyway, so I had a few things to iron out of the ‘solution’ but that came pretty quickly.

So, I went and swung for a few minutes (believe me, there’s nothing like swinging *yes, on a swing set* to get ideas coming), then I headed to my room/office where I wrote. And wrote. And wrote.

Ok, it was only almost 7,000 words, which I know isn’t a ton, but for me at least, there’s a huge difference between writing 7,000 words on a book, and writing that many words on a kids story that’s only going to have under 10,000 words at completion. (It took me a little over five hours, by the way.)

Yeah, that’s what I’m here to say. I finished the ‘book’ yesterday, so I’m happy. And now I better scamper off, because I have got a *huge* day!

Oh yes, but before I go, I’d thought I’d remind you all of my facebook page. Remember, you don’t have to be ‘on’ facebook to see a public page. (And mine is public.) So yeah, just thought I’d point that out.

One more thing, then I am going: This is a great blog. You should really check it out!

Where Am I?

Let’s just say my life has been pretty crazy recently. I’m still here, doing all my normal stuff (except for updating my bog), plus doing tons of other stuff as well.
Here’s a little glimpse of my life:

* Company all of last week
* Company most of this week
* One of my best friends getting married on Sat. I’m doing the programs (doing, yes, as in they’re not done yet), and my sister is in charge of most of the decor, so I’m going to be helping her with that
* My birthday is on Sunday (Yikes!)
* I have something to go to few hours from here on Tuesday, then I’m heading a few hours further away on Wednesday and I’ll be gone until Saturday
* I have a Retreat starting that week, and I have all the menu planning to do
* Like two days after that I’m flying out to the West Coast for a week

So yeah, that is some of the *extra* stuff going on right now. And that’s all gonna happen in less than a month. I’ll be gone for almost two weeks during the next 25 or so days. Can you tell that I feel a bit overwhelmed, maybe?

Ok, so you remembered when I said I had some exciting news to share with you? Well, I wanna tell it to you really quickly, then I’ve got to go! (And this is not why I’ve been negligent in blogging, just sayin’!)

Quick Version:

I now have my own domain name: aidylewoh.com (Yea!!!)
I now have a public facebook page: Facebook/AidylEwohAuthor
I am now on google+: And yeah, I don’t know how to get you a link, but of course you can just look up “Aidyl Ewoh”

Anyway, there’s a lot more I want to tell you about my writing, but I’ve got to go get on with my day!
Thanks, y’all for sticking around. I really am thrilled to ‘know’ you through blogging. (Thinking about giving up my blog – story for another day- made me realize how much y’all mean to me!)
