When You’re Chosen {Musing of a Happy Reviewer}

This year kinda exploded with books for review. It wasn’t something I planned – in fact, I don’t think I ever even imagined that I’d one day be getting so many books for free in exchange for reviewing them on Noveltea.

It’s been rather wonderful though. I’ve learned a lot from the books I’ve read this year, and it’s fun knowing that I get to be one of the first people from the general public to get my hands on them. As an author I take book reviewing rather seriously and always try to write an honest, but also enlightening review – and to do it on time, cause yeah, that makes a big difference.

Altogether this year I’ve reviewed fifty-seven books on Noveltea that I received for free for review purposes. I also have two more that I have not yet reviewed, plus another couple of books that I’ve requested and have been approved for. In fact, that’s where this post comes in.

Yesterday in my vlog I talked about how I really wanted to receive a certain book, but I wasn’t sure if I’d be chosen to be part of the launch team or not. The book is A Light on The Hill by Connilyn Cossette. I haven’t even read the back cover blurb of the book because I like surprises and already know from experience that I like Miss Connilyn’s books. And besides, her books have the most beautiful covers, so I’d be delighted to have her book on my shelf, even if I don’t end up really liking it.

But guess what! Yesterday soon after I posted my vlog, and right before I left for work, I got an email informing me that I had been chosen to be part of the launch team. I’m quite excited about that – in fact, it’s probably in the top five for how excited I am to get to review a book. I can hardly wait to get my hands on it.

I’d be delighted to hear about what y’all are doing during this time of year. I’ve been working a lot at the coffee shop, making memories with my family and friends, working on writing when I have a spare moment, and generally forgetting what it means to read a book.

Merry Christmas, Y’all!
