Autumn is Here!

Y’all! It’s the first day of autumn. Oh, what a happy, glorious thought. You’ve probably figured it out by now, but I find so much joy in autumn. There is so much beauty, the world is crisp, clean, clear. It’s as if the whole world is celebrating together – the trees changing colors, goldenrod blooming in abundance, the sky changing between brilliant blue and a heavy lid of gray, and the air? Oh, the invitation to run outside and explore is so strong that nearly every day finds me dawning a sweater multiple times and rushing out to find inspiration.

In reality, I’m visiting family in Florida right now, and the weather outside doesn’t look much like Ohio’s delightful Autumn, but I know it will be waiting for me when I get home. September and October are by far the best months of the year, and I feel expectant each time they come around – just awaiting the fantastic memories that will be made during those eight weeks.

Today also marks the day when I can yell “ONLY FOUR DAYS” from the rooftops and celebrate the fact that Where Dandelions Grow is nearly ready to be released. I mean, it IS ready to be released. It’s up for pre-order and all that good stuff. It just hasn’t been released yet because the rest of the blog book tour isn’t quite ready yet.

Speaking of blog book tours, I’ve answered so many interviews this week, specifically yesterday, that my brain didn’t quite know where to stop. Last night as I was falling asleep my mind kept seeing interview questions and answering them. It was rather amusing. (And, it would be pretty great if I really could answer interviews in my sleep – that would save a lot of time!)

Now back to autumn.

What is your favorite part of this wonderful season? When I stop and think about it, I’m really not sure that there’s anything I don’t like about it, except maybe the fact that part way through November I have to stop cutting grass.
