A Little Life Update

As it turns out being sick makes vlogging a rather low priority. Especially when all you want to do is sleep. Thankfully gobs of vitamin c, garlic, echinacea, and epic amounts of sleeping in the last day in a half (combined with a lot of prayer cause I don’t have time to be sick!), I’m feeling vastly better. I must say, it’s nice feeling well again. I was feeling so bad on Wednesday night that I actually slept in a bed. Now that might not be entirely shocking to the world at large, but if you’ve hung around long, you might be aware of the fact that I always sleep on the floor. So, choosing sleep in a bed? Yikes!

Thank you to everyone who signed up to read Where Dandelions Grow in exchange for reviewing it. I’m excited about the turnout and looking forward to emailing the book to y’all. I have a few tweaks with formatting left to take care of, so I hope to send the book out sometime next week. (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out this post. It’s not too late to sign up!)

Simply for nostalgia ‘s sake, here’s a nearly-five-year-old picture of right after I got my writing buddy, Novel.

Today I finished reading the first book I’ve read all the way through in August. That means I’m waaayyy behind with my reading for the month, but oh well. Somehow I should be able to fit all the review books in. 😉

In the meantime I thought I’d give you a little update to what I’ve been listening to/watching/reading recently:

What I’ve Been Listening to:

Spotify – I thought I was signing up to get a month free, but I actually signed up pay for it for a month. (What?!?) I decided to enjoy skipping as many songs as I wanted and zero ads. Currently, I’m listening to “Two Hands” by Jars of Clay.
“The Fairest Beauty” an audio book on Overdrive – Except I kinda stopped listen to it because it’s too romantic for my tastes. And I don’t like the main characters. And I kinda just don’t like the story.
The Bible on Audio. Because it’s a good way to spend time – especially while not feeling well.

What I’ve Been Watching:

Random videos on Youtube since being sick – Mainly I’ve watched Booktube and news clips with Princess Kate.
My bunny hop around my office. Really, Whimsy is my adorable little sidekick. (Haha. It was a pun. Get it?)
The number of people signing up to read Where Dandelions Grow grow. Because, really, what could be more fun than that?

What I’ve Been Reading:

The Hope Before Us by Elyse Larson – This was the book I finished. It’s the last one in the trilogy, and I’m going to miss reading about WW2 from Elyse Larson’s amazing pen.
The Lifestyle of a Watchman by James W. Goll – You’re supposed to read a chapter a day for 21 days, and I’m around day 12. It’s got a lot of good information regarding prayer. (Book for review)
God’s Crime Scene {For Kids} by J. Warner Wallace and Susie Wallace – I read my first book by J. Warner Wallace in April, and this book is a great kid version of a lot of the stuff he discussed in his other book.
Beauty from Ashes by Alana Terry – Although Alana Terry’s writing is fantastic and her characters are off-the-charts real, I’m struggling a bit with this book. It’s about a subject that I can’t relate to at all, and the characters are so incredibly completely different from me. Still, it’s very well written.
The Bible – Particuarlly Proverbs and Joshua.

And that’s it for today, for today, folks! I’d be delighted to hear what you’ve been up to recently. 🙂

Haha, yep, I generally listen to Spotify with all the ads, but sometimes they run specials where you can get a month free, or three months for 99 cents, and that’s what I thought I was doing. 🙂

Ugh, being sick is no fun. I hope you feel back to normal soon! Love the sweet picture of your dog. How is Novel doing? 🙂 I got back to work this week after a month off because we had summer break. It was a good week, though I’m already missing not getting as much reading done as I prefer. 😉 But, of course, that’s just life! Haha.

Novel’s doing great – not quite the cute puppy look anymore. 😉
YAY for summer break and getting to do more reading. I hadn’t done hardly any reading this month until I needed up getting sick. Then I got to catch up on a lot. 🙂
