This morning I was feeling slightly overwhelmed and stressed out so I was prayer journaling, telling God about it. I turned on some praise and worship music, and just as the music started playing softly in the background, the sun burst over the horizon and the room around me was flooded with a brilliant, warm glow.
It was a wonderful reminder to me that even though in the grand scheme of things I’m just a little bitty person, God still cares about me and loves me and has a very beautiful plan for my life. Which is exciting. And amazing. And awe-inspiring all at once.
Today I’ll be working in the kitchen most of the day, which is one of my favorite places to be. I’m looking forward to hours of baking, planning, organizing, and checking things off my list. I have a lot of cookies to bake, which makes me happy indeed.
This morning I worked for a while at setting up the kitchen I’ll be working in for the next couple of weeks with my non-writing job. Every time I get to spend so much time cooking or baking (which is fairly often), I’m quite inclined to write a book that features a baker/chef. As of yet I haven’t stumbled upon the perfect idea, but I’m fairly certain it will come to me one of these days. If you have any suggestions you feel inclined to share with me, then I’d be delighted to hear them.
And now, I’m off to bake some cookies!
Times of refreshing really do come from spending time in His presence! 🙂 Sounds like an encouraging morning and a wonderful day! I love the idea of a book centered around a baker or chef (as a baker myself;). I’m gonna have to think harder though about that one!

My aunt gave me the recipe, and who knows where she got it. 🙂 It has cornstarch in it, which sounds weird but totally works!
