Chicken Tikka Masala, Snow, and Non-Writing Activities

Yesterday was a beautiful snowy day – the perfect type of weather for making a big, delicious, warm meal. The world was freezing cold outside, but with four burners and the oven all going, the kitchen was nice and warm.

Because of various things I took a break from most of my writing work and caught up on some of life-ish things. Shopping, cooking, family time, life, and memory making. It was a good day.

Per request from Josh, a friend who we’ve totally grafted into the family, we made Chicken Tikka Masala and Vegetarian Korma – two Indian recipes that are somewhat time consuming but basically the best food ever. When we make this meal we generally also make a batch of Paneer Cheese, but decided to skip it this time. We did make a big pot of rice to add to the meal, though.

Making food from different countries is one of my favorite things to do, but something I don’t do nearly as often as I would like to due to the time it takes. But goodness. There’s something about mixing curry powder, cumin, ginger, coriander, cardamon, and all those delicious types of spices that fills the house with the most mouth-watering aromas you can imagine.

Seeing the different rich colors of the spices before I mix them together is so beautiful. It reminds me of the diversity all around, and how creative God is.

If y’all want to give any of the recipes a try, here are the links: Chicken Tikka Masala, Vegetarian Korma, and Paneer Cheese.

What about you? Do you like cooking/eating foods from different countries? If so, what country has your favorite cuisine?

Foreign foods are so good and so much fun to make! This evening I am planning to make rice balls and groundnut stew (a Ghanaian meal). Now I want to try the chicken tikka masala sometime.

YES! Thankfully we had enough for leftovers, so I’ve been getting to eat the food for the last few days. It’s still delicious. :)P
And aww, thank you! My bro is a photographer so he took the picture for me.
