Better than our Imagination

Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Ephesians 3: 20

This is one of my all-time favorite verses. Actually, Ephesians 3 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible.
Do you get what is being said? Oh my lands, let’s read it again: Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worekth in us,. Do y’all realize how big of an imagination I have? And yet God can do exceeding abundantly above all that I ask or think
That is a thrilling thought. I can’t even describe how amazing that seems to me. I can imagine stuff most people wouldn’t dream of. I can dream up the most wonderful situations. And yet I serve a God who can do exceeding abundantly above all that I ask or think. Or THINK people. Because He is God. He is all-powerful. He created this world. He created me. He gave me dreams. So of course He can do more than I can imagine.

I have the sad feeling that most of us put limits on God. When God presents us with an amazing opportunity, one we’ve been wanting and waiting for, instead of reaching out and accepting it, we freak out and run the other way.
When God orchestrates something magnificent we give excuses as to why it won’t work out and then we feel justified to do nothing. People, can you even begin to comprehend how we, finite little beings, think we know better than a limitless God? Not that we’d say it with our tongues, but our actions scream out our true feelings. Such conceit is beyond my comprehension and yet I’ve taken part in it, too.
Not now though. Now, now I’m reaching out and asking Him to do exceeding abundantly above what I can ask or think in my life, through my life. Because I serve an awesome God and He’s limitless.

Hi, Lydia! I met your adopted parents yesterday, and we had such a great time! (Mrs. Davis is so nice.) What a bummer that you couldn't be with them… I'd love to meet you someday! =) I enjoy your blog posts; thanks for sharing Ephesians 3:20! “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.”

Hey there! Sorry I didn't respond to this earlier. I was away from home and didn't really have internet until yesterday. I wish I could have been there, too! It would have been fun getting to hang out with you. I hope you stop by again! 🙂
