I’m home. Yay! The last month of traveling through Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, France and England has been the experience of a life time and I feel incredibly privileged that I got to take part in the journey.

And do you know what? I thought of y’all during the trip. I thought of the stories I’d be able to tell you, the pictures I could show you, and what I’d be able to bring back to give to y’all. That was a hard one, because, well, I just had a hard time trying to figure it out.

My recurring purchase in each country/town we went to was postcards. I got them basically everywhere we went (except Switzerland, because we were only there for part of a day and I couldn’t find any there). I had so much fun looking through the postcards and picking out the most beautiful ones, the ones that showed places I had seen, and the ones that seemed to capture the country/city the way I saw it.

It was the second week into our trip, right after we left Austria that I suddenly realized Wait, that would make a perfect gift! A tour through Europe from postcards. Therefore, blogger friends of mine, I began buying postcards for y’all. I bought them in a castle in Germany, at a little road-side shop in Belgium, after exploring a windmill in Holland, while walking up and down the streets of Paris, while exploring in London and after a history-filled tour of Oxford.

By the time I was done buying postcards, I had a whole bundle of them tucked away in my computer case that was bulging far more than it was ever intended to. Sometimes at night after we were settled into our hotel, I’d pull them out and look though them, remembering all the amazing places we’d been.

I bought enough postcards to have four prizes, one postcard from each of the six places I mentioned above. I also got four little keychains of the Eiffel Tower to go along with the beautiful postcards. I hope you enjoy getting them as much as I enjoyed getting them for you. I wish I could have gotten a postcard for each of y’all who read my blog and support and encourage me, but sadly, that isn’t going to happen. 🙂

YES! Holland! I got to go to the Ten Boom's house, which was SO amazing! It was what I wanted to do most of the trip and it was… Yeah, it was incredible and I could keep going on, but I think I'll save it for a blog post instead of a comment. 🙂

You've probably already guessed this, but England would definitely be my choice place to visit. In London, I'd love to visit the Westminster Chapel(Metropolitan Tabernacle) where Spurgeon preached. And, in a somewhat unrelated subject, I'd love to visit all of the sites that were a part of the Beatles history, which would also lead to Liverpool. As far as my favorite thing I did for the month, I'd guess it would be our family trip to the zoo with our son a few weeks back. The older he gets, the more fun it is to be with him at places like that and see/hear his reactions.

I'd love to visit either Paris (my room is decorated with black and white posters of the Eiffel Tower!) or England – so many books I love are set there, like The Secret Garden, Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter, etc…and I think I'd love London. Oh, please post about the Beje next! (I hope I spelled that right!)

My favorite thing this month (so far) was getting to use the little sign language I know with a Deaf couple I met at the hospital where I volunteer. They were so happy someone could communicate with them, and I enjoyed actually using real world sign language! I truly felt God calling me to work with Deaf as an ENT surgeon. It was a really amazing experience.

A family trip to the zoo sounds like fun! We haven't done one of those in a while. I hope we'll be able to before long, though. And it's kinda funny because or some reason I always imagined your son being 12 (I have NO clue why). I'm guessing I'm probably wrong with that, though. 🙂

That's so cool! I worked with a deaf lady for a long time so I learned some sign language and I know it means a ton to deaf people when people take the time to actually learn to communicate with them. That's a totally awesome calling!

I'm not that old. 😉 My son turned 6 this past February. He's actually a little miracle. All children are, but this is one that the doctors told us we'd never have due to my wife having Cystic Fibrosis. His birth is a testimony of God using what seems like a bad situation and making it good to His glory. He was born 2 months premature. We'd taken my wife to the hospital the morning of the February 20 because she felt like she was getting pneumonia. At just before 6 that evening, she went into labor. He was born 6:05. When he was born, he was okay, but he had pneumonia. Had she carried him to full term, he likely would not have survived. So, from the conception all the way to his birth, he's been a little miracle.

Oh this is lovely! I can't make up my mind where I want to go, those postcards are so much fun. But, I've ALWAYS wanted to go to London, however, those German postcards are magnificent, and the little Eiffel towers!!!! SO CUTE!

my favorite thing i did in the past month was going caving at the laurel caverns with my class..it was lots of fun squeezing thru rocks and boulders and wading thru creeks!
