X is for eXtra

For the A to Z challenge this year, I’m posting about one of my favorite things: Living the life you were born to live. I’ve been so blessed with a family that constantly encourages me and builds me up and I want to pass that along to y’all! I’ll be traveling a lot during the month, so some of the posts are scheduled ahead of time and answering comments might take some time. I’ll try and keep up though. Thanks for stopping by!

X is eXtra…

Going the extra mile isn’t always fun or easy. It would be a lot easier to cut corners sometimes and just hope the outcome is good enough to work. That’s not the way winners work though.

Sometimes I wish I didn’t have to do that extra bit of work. Send that extra email. Write that extra chapter. Finish those extra exercises. Read that extra book about marketing. Do you know what though? That’s one of the big ways people get ahead, they go the extra mile. If you do the same thing that you’ve always done, then you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.

Why don’t you decide, today, to start doing the extras in life. Spending extra time with your family, doing extra educational reading, doing extra walking. If you want to do great things with your life, you’re going to have to do some things that might not be fun. If it’s truly what you should be doing though, it will be worth it!

What about you? What are some of the extra things you’ve done today or are going to start doing?

  1. David Mabe says:

Sometimes, going the extra mile is as simple as changing our attitude towards someone or how we react in a situation. Instead of being short with someone who asks you something, add a smile to your answer and let them know they are worth your time. It's a small thing to do, but it may change the direction of their entire day. It's not hard to make a difference in someone's life. Great post!!
