Yesterday // Guest Post

I’ve not gotten much done on my writing this past week and a half. I’ve been working on just keeping up with the every-day stuff I have to do. Working (with my other job) and hanging out some with family has been keeping me pretty busy. I basically fall into bed exhausted at night, and wake up the same way. 🙂 It’s fun, exciting and good though.

Yesterday was fun. We had a ‘picnic’ out on a little cove. It was great! They had games, snacks, face painting, balloon making and ended it all with an amazing meal. I got some beautiful flowers on my face.

My cousin, Zebb, who’s also like half-brother (not in reality, of course!) caught some kind of gecko/lizard. I think he wanted to put the critter down my back, but since I was holding a baby he refrained. He ended up doing it to my sister, Johanna, (just on her shoulder, actually) and got a way better reaction from her than he would have from me.

The balloon maker made me a really cool flower. Then, one of the petals popped, so it looked like a butterfly. During the speech at the end of the meal, Zebb added the anti and face. Then, we were fighting over a plastic spoon (yes, we were fighting!) cause Zebb was trying to flick stuff at me using the spoon. Finally, to protect myself, I broke off my part of the spoon.
Zebb then threatened to pop my beautiful butterfly, but I told him he couldn’t, because it would make too much noise (do realize, all this ‘fighting’ was done in whispers and mostly looks). Therefore, he waited until the applause at the end of the speech and then methodically popped all the balloons in my poor little butterfly. Y’all, I poured water on him though and got him back.
You just got a good glimpse of how much fun Zebb and I have together. And how I am whenever I get tired. Welcome to the real me. 🙂
Oh yes, before I forget again (I forgot yesterday) I guest posted and would be delighted if y’all would check it out! Our family has never been into celebrating Valentines Day elaborately, so I kinda didn’t think about it coming up… Then, Kiri Liz contacted me and asked me if I wanted to take part in her Valentines Day celebration, so I happily agreed. Thanks, Kiri Liz! Click HERE for my post.

This was a fun post. Like I said on your Facebook page, the face painter you found must be the Rembrandt of face painting. They did an excellent job. It sounds like you have quite the prankster in your cousin. You have to keep a sharp eye on people like that. 🙂 I hope you're having a good Wednesday.
