We older cousins (late teens-twenties) and some of the parents spent hours huddled on the couch crowded around the computer…. Taking tests. No, really. Personality tests. I’d done it in the past, but I think my personality is more developed now than it was a few years ago.
Pretty much what you do is answer 70 yes or no questions, and then it will give you a combination of four different letters that each stands for something. Then you can look up the sequence of your letters, and it will give you a fairly deep insight as to why you feel the way you do with certain aspects of life, and why you and ‘so-in-so’ might not understand each other no matter how long you talk, and why you and ‘such-and-such’ a person can understand even simple grunts. (Run-on sentence there, y’all!) The cool part about all this is after you’ve figured the stuff out, you can know how to respond in different situations so you can get along with that troublesome cousin. =)
It was pretty fun when we would get to the point where we knew what our letter-combo was and we could read about it to everyone else. For several of us (me included) everyone sat there laughing at how much it really did describe me. {Note: Not everything they described would fit me, nor should you expect it to be spot-on if you do the test. In general though, it’s pretty amazing.} You can see what careers you’ll most likely excel in, what kind of parents you’ll turn out to be, and the list goes on. It’s really eye-opening. {Another Note: I don’t agree with everything they say, and you’ll need to use your own judgement with what you read on the website.}
And, on the writing side… What better way to make sure you stay true to a character? Yeah…. Pretty cool, right?
Alrighty then. If you want to take the test for yourself, you can do so here. And if you do take it, why not share your results with the rest of us? My results were ISFP, by the way. =)
Really fun! I got most of the family to do the test and it's really interesting. I'm a ESFJ. =)

Sarah, you're a ESFJ?! Me too 🙂
The way my cousins and siblings helped me remember the letters when I did it was that “Every Soul Finds Joy” when they're around us, ESFJs 😉

Oh, I adore MBTI personalities. xD Oooh, ISFP huh? And we have a few of the rare INFJs down here in the comments? Nice 🙂 I'm an ENFP! A few of my siblings are: INFP, ESFP, and INTJ. I suspect one may be an ENTP.
Haha…what'd I tell you. I love this. I try to figure people out a lot. 😉

Oh wow! That is so cool. I'm almost jealous that you two have the same personality. =) And yes, you guys get the great “Every Soul Finds Joy” I just think “I See Fat People” not quite the same feel…

That's really cool! I'm not good enough at that kind of stuff to guess what people are, but I like it when I can find out.

It seems to change somewhat, depending on how you feel when you answer the questions, but we're pretty sure my mom is TCBY, and my uncle's an ESPN. 😉
