R is for Really Living

{My A to Z Challenge for 2013 has the cool theme of being chronically ill. It’s going to be fun, so stick around!}

R is for Really Living

Sometimes I don’t know how to explain how I feel other than to say that it takes all of my energy to just exist. To simply hold on and keep going. Seriously, even laying still and flat in bed feels like it’s using up my energy instead of renewing it. (Thankfully this isn’t how I feel all the time!)

Because of that though, I’ve thought about what it’s like to really live. You can’t passively take life as it comes, because before you know it, life will be over. Gone. And what will you do? Will you look back at the end of your life and be satisfied with what you did? With what you accomplished?

I’m sure you’ve heard it before, but life isn’t a rehearsal, it’s the real deal. You don’t get to do it twice. You can’t rewind the hands of time and switch up choices and decisions. You have one life and one life alone to do what you were created to do, and each and every one of us were created for a certain reason. We all have a mission to fulfill. Do you even know what yours is? Because if not, how can you know if you’re doing what you need to do to accomplish what you were born to do?

    And more then that, we've eternity ahead! Repentance (turning from sin) and trust – the only way! But great post 🙂

    Haha, that was actually the point of everything I was writing… I guess I didn't think to say it though. I was meaning God put us here for a reason, and we need to do what He wants us to do so we are prepared for eternity…
