H is for Hope

{My A to Z Challenge for 2013 has the cool theme of being chronically ill. It’s going to be fun, so stick around!

H is for Hope
If there’s one thing I have to hold on to during hard times, it’s hope. The hope that this too, shall pass. The hope that the pain won’t last forever. The hope that the fatigue will one day abate.
The hope that some day I’ll be able to function like a ‘normal’ human.
One thing that I don’t have to hope for though, is that it will all be worth it. Because that’s faith. And I have faith that it will be worth it. I think I’m a better person then I would have been if I hadn’t gone through Lyme Disease. A more well-rounded girl. My life isn’t all roses and cupcakes, so therefore I’m able to relate to more people. I’ve learned patience (ok, ok, I’m learning patience). I’ve learned not to complain, even when times are tough (most of the time, that is). I’ve learned to deal with not feeling well, and push through it.
Hope and faith. The two sometimes mix and merge almost as one. Both of them are gifts from my heavenly Father that I cling to. Gifts that give me the strength to go on.

“Hope” is the thing with feathers
    That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
    And never stops at all.”

Aren't we blessed to have not only hope on earth, but hope for eternity with the King? 🙂 Keep pushing on. “If God has brought you to it, He'll get you through it!”

Isn't it funny (in a really painful way sometimes) that the hardest things we seem to get dragged through are the best things for us? Sometimes hope and faith seem to be the only kind of anchor in this turbulent (is that spelled right?) ocean sometimes called life.
You can push through it 🙂
Wishing you the best, Tayla Durham
