Ten WIP Questions, Tagged

Hey! Here’s a ‘bloghop’ thingy I was tagged for. Crazy as it is, over on GTW, we’ve got tons of great aspiring authors, and no less than five of them choose to tag me! Caitlin was first, and then the others followed along. Thanks, guys! It’s been fun answering the questions, and y’all should really go check out their blogs. I mean, you can’t ever look at to many writing blogs, can you? (By the way, I was supposed to post this a little bit ago… Sorry.)

My ‘taggers’:
CaitlinArlette, S. Alex, Hannah and Zara

1: What is the working title of your book?
The Guardian’s Secret

2: Where did the idea come from for the book?
I was laying in bed one day and I realized how much fun it would be to write a book about a princess… Yet it seems like half of the girls in the world dream of writing a book about princesses, so I needed a very unique twist.
I went over different ideas for a few minutes and then suddenly it just kinda popped into my mind… What if there were identical princesses, yet no one knew it? It was a very exciting moment for me, and I don’t think I’ve really lost any of the excitement since then… If anything, I’ve added to it.

3: What genre does your book come under?
I’m not sure… That’s a question that stumps me with any book. Maybe a tad bit of fantasy, it happens in a made up (yet totally believable world) in a time period like the Medieval Ages.

4: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
I have no clue. I can only name a handful of actors names right now, and most of them I wouldn’t even be able to put a face with. :-/ I’m much more of a bookish girl.

5: What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
In a land where twins are outcasts, identical princesses masquerade as one girl – Rylie, heir to the throne; a secret not even their father knows.

6: Is your book self-published, published by an independent publisher, or represented by an agency?
I’m thinking it will most likely be self-published.

7: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
I’m still working on it. I started a little over six months ago, but haven’t been focusing on it.

8: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Actually, I can’t really think of any books, but I’m sure there must be quite a few!

9: Who or what inspired you to write this book?
A missionary story I read when I was a little girl about someone named Mary Slessor. It also parallels to Esther’s account in the Bible. (One of my favorite historical people)

10: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Seeing how the twins relate to people who don’t even realize they exist. Princess Rylie is loved by all, yet often Nicolette and Raquel, the twins who are masquerading as Rylie, get annoyed when they hear/see people being unkind to twins…. Though they never realize that their future leader is a twin!

Thanks so much, for reading my answers. It’s been fun! Also, I’m just going to tag three people: Jessica, Essie, and Kiri Liz. All three of these people have stories that I’ve been enjoying ‘getting to know’ and I thought you might, too!
