Friends, Games, and Snacks

Helena (my sister), and I have totally different work schedules and such, so we don’t get to do a lot of stuff together, but there is something we always like doing with each other… And that’s going to our neighbors once a week to play cards with them. There’s been so much going on though over the past few months, that we haven’t been able to go since January. It was SO much fun getting to go there again.

We pretty much laugh the whole time we’re there, and we have a hard time leaving at a reasonable hour. Last night we were there from around 7:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., and they wanted us to stay longer. Normally there are two or three couples there, last night there were two.

Helena and I both feel so honored and special to be welcomed into their group, especially since we’re about six decades younger than them, and they’ve been friends forever. It’s like getting three sets of ‘extra’ grandparents. =)

By the way, Helena took some pictures and I had wanted to put them on here, but she’s busy right now so I can’t get them from her. Oh well. I’m sure you’ll be hearing more about our neighbors in the future. They have some really interesting stories, especially about fighting in WW2.

When we got home, I was still in the mood to play a game, so I asked Marta, a friend who lives with us, to join me. We ended up playing Egyptian War while eating a strange array of snacks.

Baby dill pickles, pretzels with BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese and artichoke dip.

What’s your favorite snack?
